I loved “a Corner of the Universe” as a kid.
Synopsis if you’ve never read it:
A Corner of the Universe is a 2002 Newbery Honor-winning novel by Ann M. Martin about a shy 12-year-old girl named Hattie whose life is upended when her uncle Adam, who has schizophrenia and autism, comes to live with her family. The story explores Hattie's relationship with her uncle, her family's struggles to cope with his condition, and the tragic events that unfold during the summer.
If I liked this book when I was a young reader, do you have any ideas what I might like as an adult?
I’m not looking for youth novels or children’s novels, I mean literary fiction novels with a similar kinds of themes?
