I read a ton of fantasy fiction, but I'm looking to force myself to try something new. I recently read Endurance and loved the change of pace.
I'm not looking for anything specific, just trying to get away from the sword and sorcery fantasy I typically go to. I love a strong plot, twists, and cozy worlds. Preferably under 500 pages.

Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie is great, has strong plot, twists, but I’m not sure if the world is cozy. Just about 400 pages
Take a look at Fay Abernethy’s books – they’re semi-fantasy/sci-fi, semi real world and although the first book starts with a sad event, the books in general are feel-good without being too cutesy and twee. There’s a bit of romance, adventure, found family, and some clever ideas.
Something new?
Here it is.
