I've seen this advent book floating around where you're supposed to cut open a set of pages every 24 days and I was in love with the idea, but apparently the book is really bad (surprise surprise).
This has inspired me however to DIY this for a really good friend who loves to read as well. I want to buy my own book and wrap the pages and send it to her and l'm beyond excited! However I'm struggling what book to pick.

l'm looking for a Christmas themed book that is:
    – Not solely based on romance. She mostly reads literary fiction, but also for example contemporary or historical. An Emily Henry style book would be perfect, but I wouldn't like it to give Ali Hazelwood vibes.
    – A book with mostly good vibes and a story that is easy to follow when read spread out over 24 days, but not too cringy.
    – Not too long or hard to read, I really don't want it to become a chore for her to read the assigned pages every day.

TLDR; fun, enjoyable, little to no cringe

It doesn't have to be life changing but I would like for it to be good enough to really enjoy!

Examples: I've thought about The Wish by Nicholas Sparks but I think it would be toolong and heavy/ sad.
I think a Christmas carol by Dickens would be lovely too but am afraid the old language would be challenging on brain foggy days.
Last year she enjoyed Small things like these by Claire Keegan a lot, but I think a story like that would be too serious/delicate to read spread out over that many days.

    Would love to hear suggestions!
