I am currently working on writing my first essay for my law degree. For the essay, we were allowed to choose a theorist and an ancient legal culture and compare how this legal culture meets the theorists' definition of law and their definition of justice. I chose Kelsen and Ancient Greece from the list, with the aim of contrasting the two, especially in regards to justice. However, I am struggling to get my head around Ancient Greek law (particularly Ancient Athens, as that seems to be the main focus in available resources) especially in regards to their definiton of justice. Does anyone have any recommendations on literature that could be helpful for my understanding on Ancient Greek law and justice? Any recommendations on anything related to Kelsen would be also be helpful. Thank you.
