I've been annotating my books with my fountain pens (Custom 823 M, Lamy A Star F, 1911 HMF), described to be a wet writer with wet ink (Iroshizuku inks). Unfortunately, all of them bleeds and feather. Majority of the books that are unforgiving came from Scribner, Bantam, Penguin RH, Harper and Collins. The forgiving books with acceptable paper (not good) is that of MacMillan. All of these books in question are hardcover / trade paperback, and not mass market. Some are even those flexibound or "Deluxe"/"Premium" Edition, and even Leatherbound. They should get their shit together and not feed us low quality bullshit.

Maybe stop ruining books by writing in them with ink
For those who will say to stop annotating books since it only messes it up, what’s the point of buying a physical copy then? It’s like saying don’t drive more than 1km because the tire will be scratched. If you don’t want to annotate your books, good for you. But I want to annotate my books, so fuck off.
Stop scribbling in books, then.
