Just finished "A Little Life" by Hanya Yanagihara. Loved the book, but it was a serious punch in the gut. I need something easy & fun.

    Rules:
    1. No series.
    2. Nothing serious, sad, heartbreaking, emotional, etc.
    3. Needs to be quick-ish, something easy to get into, and easy to finish in a week or two. Not looking for an epic that takes 100 pages to get interested, or a 1000+ page slog.

I don't want total trash, but it doesn't need to be "high brow" either. What fits the bill? Legal Drama… Crime drama… who-done-it mystery… Spy thriller…

    1. The author of Perfume, Patrick Suskind, wrote another great little book called The Pigeon. It is low key but still quite engaging

I like James Lee Burke for a palate cleanser. Any of his Dave Robicheaux novels will do because they’re all pretty much the same formula. But his prose is gorgeous and his descriptions of Louisiana (and sometimes Montana) bring it to life in technicolor.

You should try Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. It’s a literary fiction, but is based around a bank robbery turned into hostage situation and walks you through each hostages story and background.

It’s super easy, ‘inspirational’ vibes, I finished it in 2 days. Very easy read after A Little Life (also read this – super tough).
