Looking for historical/non-fiction that are both informative and insightful to a bygone era but also written more like a narrative than a history. Bonus points for centering on European colonialism but in a critical sense. by TheBoredMan Related: Literaturre from Ireland/U.K. Books where unsettling/new/unexpected customs and tribal groups emerge Classics/contemporary fiction from the German speaking region Books with a ocean setting (beach town, elements of surfing/free diving/ whales would be cool! ) A book that will blow my mind
MarinerMooseismydad on October 24, 2025 4:22 am Have you read the other David Grann books? Lost City of Z and Killers of the Flower Moon are both great too. I have “Fatherland” on my list too because this sub recommends it so often. Haven’t read it yet tho so can’t recommend. The Wager is top 5 books for me.
