My favorite kid’s book as a kid was called “But No Elephants” which is about a granny who adopts every animal in a zoo, but refuses to adopt the elephant because he is too big. But then winter comes, and she finally lets the elephant come into her home from the snow. The elephant accidentally destroys her house and eats her food, and the elephant feels so bad, so he picks up the whole house and walks it to the beach.
This is not one of the most iconic books or anything, I just love it on a personal level so much

Ferdinand the Bull is the best children’s book everrrr! And the animated betraying from several years ago is an abomination!
As a kid, my favorite short books were Stella Nona and The Old Woman Who Lived in a Vinegar Bottle. My favorite longer books were Charlotte’s Web and anything animal like Black Beauty

I gave my nieces Room on the Broom for a Halloween gift one year and they LOVED IT.

Mr Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown
Du Iz Tak? by Carson Ellis
TBH, I hate The Rainbow Fish and I think it sends the wrong message. The fish diminishes his (her?) own unique sparkle because it makes the other fish uncomfortable.

Well, my favourites were…

And ‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie’ of course, but you already have that one.
