Just finished the first one (more specifically, listening to the audiobook). While I enjoyed it, I can’t help but think that it won’t go anywhere? There’s cool stuff in there, but so many of the themes/plot elements seem… underdeveloped. Something interesting is brought up for a few pages only to move on to the next thing.
I guess what I’m really asking is: is this series heading toward a destination, or is it one of those “all about the journey” stories? I enjoyed the journey for one book, not sure I’ll enjoy it for two more unless there’s some arcs involved.
