Recently I have taken over running a local LGBTQ+ book club.
We meet once a month to discuss the book and then we decide with a pool what the next book will be. Anyone in the club the suggest any book.
I came up with the idea that maybe we could start doing themed months, where all the suggestions have to adhere to the theme.
I need suggestion for a few more themes. The ones I have are:
– queer
– fantasy
– sci-fi
– crime
– horror
– historical (set al least 100 years in the past)
– contemporary (no older than 10 years)
– (auto)biographical
– graphic novel
– classic
– non-fiction
– story collection
– freebie (everyone reads any book they want and present it to the others)

Shameless self-promotion coming…
I have written 2 biographical verse-novels after a head injury and whilst working in the sex industry. I consider myself very LGBTQI+ friendly and sex-positive. Although my books, especially the first, may not be as technically good as a full post-modern free verse haiku with sparklers, published traditionally, (yes, I selfpublished) I feel their content is revelatory and revolutionary.
My work is disarmingly honest, conversational, funny at times, and I have much personal insight. I also dislike Trauma Porn, sorry Trauma Poems.
If you are interested, pls DM, so I can share the website. (Or it might just be on my profile). If you go there, check out my Sad Jester painting. I sell it as a t-shirt on redbubble.com and im trying to build a Sad Jester Army, lol.
Good luck with your club!
