I need help finding a new book to get lost in on foggy nights with a warm cup of tea. My two absolute favorite mystery/crime novels are I Have Some Questions For You by Rebecca Makkai and All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers. Other notable ones I've enjoyed were Gone Girl, No Exit by Taylor Adams, Find Me by Anne Fraiser, the Truly Devious trilogy by Maureen Johnson, and The Missing Half by Ashley Flowers.
One thing I'll note is I hate when a twist feels forced or like it was just invented to try to be different for the shock value. Survive the Night by Riley Sager infuriated me.
I bow to your expertise, and appreciate any assistance you can offer!

I’m halfway through The Last House on Needless Street and it would probably meet your need!
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd or Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
I also really enjoyed I Have Some Questions for You and am annoyed by Riley Sager books! FWIW, here are some others that I enjoyed that might work for you (in no particular order):
– Doll Parts by Penny Zang
– The Witch’s Orchard by Archer Sullivan
– Whistle by Linwood Barclay
– The Proof of My Innocence by Jonathan Coe
– The God of the Woods by Liz Moore
– Madwoman by Chelsea Beiker
– The Drowning Woman by Robyn Harding
– Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
