As a reverse-suggestion/reverse-request, what's a book that made you go "ugh this could've been an email"? Something that's dragging, a bore to read, or unnecessarily long, repetitive, annoying, or badly written etc. (like The Secret History or The Lean Start-Up) And what would you recommend instead?
No hate, it's just that I've been trying to ease back into leisurely reading after getting my super-serious-no-nonsense degree. I'm afraid I've K.I.S.S'd my reading interest away. I really want the spark back. 🥺 I'm open to all genres, fiction or non-fiction. Heck, I'll even take cookbooks! I just want a really fun time.
Thanks!

For me that was *The Fountainhead*. I started out enjoying reading it, but man, Rand just wants to beat you over the head with her ideas, and she thinks you’re too stupid to figure it out on your own.
I don’t have a substitute I’d recommend for it, but that was one that I wondered why I was continuing to read it, but for some reason I stuck it out.
