This is the first book I have read in years. I haven’t read a book in its entirety for pleasure (and haven’t read much other than news articles, science journals, and manuals) since college, and I graduated 8 years ago. My friend gave me this book and thought I would like it, and I LOVED it.
However, this book is about as far as I would go in terms of violence, especially toward young women and/or children. I prefer not to read anything with heavy sexual content. I don’t mind murder, but I would prefer something that isn’t very graphic in terms of violence.
Forgive me, as I have not read in a long time and I’m not sure how to describe what I’m trying to say, but I would like a recommendation that is just as beautifully descriptive as Perfume, a little dark and cunning, and almost seductive. I found myself rereading over many pages just because they were written so beautifully.
I don’t like fantasy and sci-fi.
Thanks in advance.
