Looking for book recommendations of protagonists in mental health treatment/inpatient

I connect best to books relating to mental health struggles and inpatient experiences. The last ones I read was The Faces by Tove Ditlevsen and Its kind of a funny story, and girl interrupted. The darker reads the better, though I am not looking for a performative read just a acknowledgment of struggle or hopelessness.
