I haven’t read a book since high school (when it was required lol) and I’m trying to start reading because I think it would be a good hobby for me. I’m pretty picky but I really liked the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo and copper sun. I like adventurous or fictional type of books I guess would be the best description. Not super into romance, I liked more of the plot of Evelyn Hugo. Thank you guys for the help🙏🙏

I haven’t read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but I really liked Stephen King when I got back into reading. He has some short novels like The Long Walk, Elevation, and Firestarter was really good. He also has some books that are collections of short stories like If It Bleeds, Four Past Midnight, and Nightshift.
I haven’t read Evelyn Hugo so I can’t go off that vibe but a mystery book I read recently and really enjoyed was **Half Past by Victoria Helen Stone.** It’s not like thriller, scary or anything like that, just good ole mystery.
whoever made you believe that some books are exclusive for “people who read” was lying to you, unless they meant kids or people literally learning to read then is just a lie.
Read anything than looks interesting, maybe go to a public library, follow someone who had an interesting review on a book you like, open an account on pagebound (an app between goodreads and reddit) and let the algorithm help you with your next book.
