Hey everyone,
I recently read Me Before You by Jojo Moyes and I’m obsessed with Louisa Clark. Not just the romance part, but like… her life. The whole “normal girl in a small British town” thing — working at a café, talking about Tesco, living at home in a cramped house, just kind of existing in that early 2010s British life. It felt so cosy and real.
I loved the way it captured that normal, working-class vibe — like you could actually know her or bump into her on the high street. I’m not really looking for fantasy or big adventure books, more something character-driven, quiet, everyday life type of story, maybe with a bit of humour or heart.
Any recs for books with that same cosy, small-town British feel?

Mike Gayle is one of my favorite British authors. Any of his books would work! I particularly liked his last book : Hope Street.
