I’ve gotten into reading in the last year or so, and I’ve gone through what I feel are the basics of my zone of interest. My favorites have been:

    The Stranger

    Stoner

    White Noise

    Giovanni’s Room

I’ve also read and enjoyed 1984, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and No Longer Human, and would like to dive into some deeper cuts of whatever niche this might be. Modern existentialism?

sounds like you’re into that quiet, “man quietly falls apart while life keeps going” vibe. some deeper cuts you might love:-

The Moviegoer by Walker Percy – southern existential dread done right.

The Mezzanine by Nicholson Baker – an entire novel about a guy riding an escalator and overthinking life. somehow genius.

The Loser by Thomas Bernhard – harsh, obsessive, perfect if you liked Camus.
