Hi everyone! Hope you're doing well!
Here's the thing: I'm Brazilian and currently finishing my undergraduate degree in design. For my final thesis, I'm working on a redesign of a book that tells the legends and superstitions from the region where I was born. The original book was published in 1975, and my proposal is to recreate it with illustrations, targeting a young adult audience. My visual references include splash arts from games, animations like Arcane and Spiderverse, and similar styles.
As part of my methodology, I need to collect and analyze similar projects in order to propose new design solutions. So I'm looking for recommendations of illustrated books that are geared more toward adult readers- books with less text and more imagery, but not purely visual and definitely not graphic novels. I’ll drop an example in the comments of an illustrated book I already have, which is roughly in the direction I want to follow.

This is the book I’m using as a reference, and you can see some photos of the pages to get a sense of what it’s like inside: [https://www.pantaikan.com.br/](https://www.pantaikan.com.br/)
