Hi All! I’m looking for a suggestion of a book that would be a good gift for a 15yo girl, my niece. She is into horses and dancing, and she’s studying English for a couple of years now (our 2nd language) so I’d like to gift her something that could motivate her to read in English.
The caveat is: my family is VERY conservative so the book shouldn’t contain any “spicy” scenes (anything more than kissing).
Any help is appreciated!

Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell
Has she read Black Beauty? It’s not a difficult book, but if English isn’t her first language it might be a good choice.

Honestly the twilight books are pretty easy reads, super conservative and really engaging. I also really like the starcrossed novels at her age!
You can also never go wrong with Jane Austen!
As a teenager, I loved the Hunger Games. She may already know the story but I find that when I am reading in a 2nd language I like reading stories I am already a bit familiar with so that I have something to help me if I come across words or translations that I am not familiar with. There is a relationship but only kisses.
