I usually like to read a sort of silly / easy to read book (think emily Henry, Christina Lauren / elin hilderbrand) before bed because if I fall asleep mid page and forget a little bit of the plot, it doesn’t really matter the next time I pick up the book!

These books are typically romcom / romances. Unfortunately, I am freshly heartbroken, so none of the ones I’d normally go to would work for me right now.

I’m having a really hard time sleeping right now and miss my nighttime routine so much. Does anyone have any recommendations that could help? I’m getting so desperate I’m considering reading Junie B Jones.

Please read junie b jones, when I went through a heartbreak last year I went straight back to old childhood favourites and they were such a comfort! Harry Potter, Anne of Green Gabels, Black Beauty, A Little Princess, etc etc

If you’re open to middle grade fantasy I’ll recommend my favorite series, [Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/6a6d5ca1-b2f5-47be-828c-018144d3bbc7) by Jessica Townsend. It’s a really fun time and has no romance.

And if you’re open to very long books, I recommend [The Hands of the Emperor](https://share.google/ID8EUnwDjqkoB35LB) by Victoria Goddard. It’s a beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.
