    Hello lovely people.

I'm a pretty avid reader but I play a lot of sports in my free time and now that I'm looking down the barrel of an intense surgery I'd love some new books to read.

Fantasy is usually my jam but I love a good thriller/mystery and cozy reads. I'd love to hear your recommendations.

A few of my recent favourites:

    Demon Copperhead
    A gentleman in Moscow
A house in the cerulean sea
    Between two fires
    Demons

I also keep reading Terry Pratchett to keep my mood up.

I'd love to hear what you've been reading.

    Thank you.

I believe Barbara Kingsolver doesn’t have one bad book. Carl Hiaasen is zany and funny. Between those two you can fill a kindle and pass a lot of time. Good luck with your surgery!

    2. Thumbs up for Terry Pratchett 🙂

Rivers of London series – Ben Aaronovitch – for a Terry Pratchett fan (it’s not like discworld nothing is, but it’s British has British humor and wizards. Urban fantasy police procedural)

The Stand – Stephen King (just because)

Robin Hobb – Realm of the Elderlings (start with Assassins Apprentice) – for some fantasy

Piranesi – Susanna Clarke – if you like A House in the Cerulean Sea

The Bean Trees – Barbara Kingsolver (more Kingsolver)

The Shipping News – Annie Proulx – if you like Demon Copperhead

Seveneves – Neal Stephenson – a big page turning scifi thriller

I hope your ordeal goes as well as possible – and wish you a speedy recovery with lots of good reads along the way /hug

    3. I really enjoyed Starter Villain as a fun read without too much world building slog while you’re feeling fuzzy. It’s funny too.

The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher is fun too. I like that they don’t cover long stretches of time. He just has a bonkers couple of days. Also available as graphic novels if you’re into that.

The invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman is way better than the bad pen name would suggest. The most unique representation of the fey in any fantasy I’ve ever read. Gives me the same vibe as the Librarian movies and show.
