I used to be an avid reader from the time i learned how to read up until my senior year of high school 2019 where i hit a major bout of depression, and have only just started to recover in the past year or so. It has been SO LONG since ive read an actual book, and im looking for suggestions. I took myself to B&N the other day and every description i read absolutely bored me, i was there for almost 3 hours and walked out with nothing. I hope someone can give me a good recommendation, several recommendations even, im open to making a list of books for me to read in the future.
– I love sci-fi and fantasy, but nothing overly cheesy, im sick of seeing chosen one tropes, please nothing too cheesy 🙁
– i love dystopian novels, but same thing, nothing to cheesy, no “chosen one” tropes, if possible, or if it is i dont want it shoved in my face lol
– i am indifferent to romance, i am absolutely bored by the idea of a fantasy or sci fi or dystopian book that is 90% romance and almost nothing to do with the genre i want. I am ok with romance if its not too overdone/intense.
– slightly related to the last part, i would LOVE recs for books that are Fantasy/sci fi/dystopian that just so happen to LGBT! Its hard to find LGBT books that arent purely romance, if its just sprinkled in there, i would love it
