I know this book has become a bit of a cliché ( almost a running joke ) in this community. But as someone who’s not American, I’d never even heard of Lonesome Dove.
On the other end of the spectrum, I just started a book that someone here recommended with genuine enthusiasm, and it’s absolutely blowing my mind (even though I’m only about 40 pages in): House of Leaves.

There are many, but a few that come to mind are Oryx and Crake, The Last House on Needless Street and I Who Have Never Known Men. I know you asked for one but I couldn’t help myself!
