Sometimes I get into a reading mood and occasionally that mood matches the weather, and I’m looking for some wintery reads.
However, I’ve had this happen before so have been through quite a few winter themed reads and will list them below:
Ones I enjoyed:
* A Christmas Carol
* Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan
* The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
* Miracles on Maple Hill
* Moominland Midwinter
These were okay:
* A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles – this one has grown on me over time. While reading it I was mostly frustrated. As time has passed, I’ve liked it more after.
Didn’t like/DNF:
-
The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey – also aware of her new book, but I really didn’t like The Snow Child, too many animal deaths and other issues, and I’m not ready to retry this author
-
The Frozen River
Ones on my TBR for this winter:
*Smilla’s Sense of Snow
*Snow Falling on Cedars
