I know there are many fictional fathers that have a big ego or a lone wolf archetype, but I haven't read a story yet of one that is more of a quiet loser, if that makes sense. I suppose maybe because they would be boring to write? And I'm not necessarily looking for one that has a criminal or evil father, but one that has very low self-esteem of chronic depression and yet they are unaware of their cognitive self distortion.
