I just devoured the Murderbot series and need something else until the next one is out

Hi, I just read all 8 of the Murderbot books in about a week and feel empty now. I really want something which has the same kind of damaged/protective, emotionally complex but also warm vibe. I love Becky Chambers, Star Trek TNG (not a book, I apologize) and would love something else in the humanist Sci-Fi vein. Bodyguard/combat stuff/lots of peril is welcome, as are things which explore friendships, humanity and tech. LGBTQ+ characters are welcome. I can deal with dark stuff too a la Ian Banks, but not into torture or body horror. As long as the overall vibe is generally warm, it's ok if bad stuff happens too.

Any recommendations would be really appreciated. I'll read trash or high literature, anything is ok.

Edit to say: The first book in the Murderbot Series is All Systems Red and the series is by Martha Wells. Highly recommend if you like Sci-Fi with compelling characters.
