For context, I’ve only seen the Netflix series, but I absolutely loved the world, the creatures, the magic, the story, and the characters. That said, it felt like a lot of the story was either rushed or left out completely, which makes me want to read the books.
The thing is, the series is pretty long, so I’m a bit worried about starting it and ending up disappointed.
So, what do you think — should I dive into The Witcher saga, or is there another series in a similar style that’s even better?

The books are infinitely better, so if you liked the show you’ll probably love the books. The chronologically first two books are a collection of short stories that introduce you to the characters. If you want to dive right into the main storyline and see if you’re really interested in what the majority of the books are like, you’d want to start with Blood of Elves.
