I’m finally in my reading era after 15 years of barely opening a book, and I’ve learned that I really like books that hook you within the first ~30 pages.
I’ve loved these books and would like to know what’s your recommendation for my next one ^^
- Flowers for Algernon: became my favorite book. I’ve never cried so much with ANYTHING. I’m a big fan of unethical experiments and moral dilemma books.
- Project Hail Mary: this was a phenomenal book, I loved the pace in which is was written and the science talk. Amaze!
- Dark Matter: loved the science talk and the love story. Great plot twists.
I saw somewhere here that Never Let Me Go was a safe next option but I didn’t like it a lot. Maybe it was too dystopian for my imagination. Also, The Martian is on my list but I’d like to read different authors for now.
Pls help!

The Silo series (Wool, Shift, and Dust) by Hugh Howey is pretty good.
The Marrow Thieves
Margaret Atwood’s MaddAddam trilogy for dystopia.
