I’m looking for romance recs that fit a fun rom com vibe with a little dark romance mixed in, especially enemies to lovers or fake dating. I also grabbed Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore on BOTM and I’m trying to figure out how clean it is. I’m totally fine with smut, but I’m considering giving it to my younger sister and want to make sure it doesn’t have graphic scenes or strong swear words like fuck, shit, god damn, or hell. If anyone has read it and can give a clear idea of the content, I’d really appreciate it.

I know a lot of fun rom coms and separately contemporary romance that lean dark but I’m not sure I know of a romcom that fits.
Maybe Captivated by Tessa Bailey & Eve Dangerfield? That book is spicy but it seems like you were looking for spicy for the first part?
As for Violet Thistlewaite is Not a Villain, it hasn’t officially published yet (pub date Nov. 18) so there aren’t yet ratings on romance.io.
But there are some reviews on Goodreads. One says there is “one very mildly explicit scene.”
1. Violet Thistlewaite has two spicy scenes but they weren’t frequent or graphic enough to need skimming. It might be safer to pre-read it yourself before giving it to her.
