Stories of Your Life and Others, by Ted Chiang
[Escape Pod](https://escapepod.org/) publishes text and audio readings of short sci fi stories. If you are unsure where to begin amidst the deluge of stories, I think you would like [Paradise Regained](https://escapepod.org/2018/08/09/escape-pod-640-paradise-regained/), since you like Scavenger’s Reign

* I second the recommendation of Ted Chiang’s short fiction. If you like his style, I also recommend Of Tales and Enigmas by Minsoo Kang.
* [Mirrorshades](https://www.rudyrucker.com/mirrorshades/) edited by Bruce Sterling. The stories in this one are hit or miss, but it is available to read free on one of the authors’ websites, with consent of the other authors, so the barrier to entry is low.
