Hi! I've never been big on reading but recently because of a college course thats heavy on reading, I've found a new appreciation for it. I'd like to find a nice book that I can read on my own time outside of the class requirements which is largely plays rather than novels. I'm looking for books with dystopian or apocalyptic themes / settings as I'm am a big fan of Fallout and I want with something in that ballpark. Any recommendations welcome!

[A Canticle for Leibowitz](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Canticle_for_Leibowitz) by Walter M. Miller Jr.
Cormac Mcarthy’s The Road and Stephen King’s The Stand are both popular and good
Swan Song by Robert McCammon
Parable of the sower- Octavia Butler
The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi and The Water Knife by the same author. (TW: The Windup Girl has a rape scene in it, but it’s integral to the plot and is a fantastic book).
The Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. This one is a must-read, especially in the current political climate.
Odd Billy Todd by N.C. Reed. This book is a great audio book too.
Dungeon Crawler Carl. Yeah, Yeah, dumb title, thought I would hate it. Loved it!
A Canticle for Liebowitz by Walter M. Miller. This one is a classic and is an easy read.
The road
The Slinx is a great book by Tatyana Tolstaya
Omon Ra by Viktor Pelevin
Invitation to a beheading by Nabokov
Roadside Picnic by Arkady Strugatsky and Boris Strugatsky.
Post-apocalyptic. Inspired the STALKER game series.

The Hunger Games. Dystopia where the districts who lost the war must each offer a teenaged boy and girl every year as tributes to fight to the death in a televised event. The last survivor gets to go home.
Divergent. You choose your faction at 16 and there’s no going back. The book follows a teen who makes an impulsive choice to leave the faction they were raised in, only to find there are challenges to be overcome to be allowed to stay.
The Stand by Stephen King.
