I would love to read a book that offers a new perspective on traveling. I've grown a bit tired of doing roughly the same routine while traveling: plane flight, hotel, hit the main spots, good food, pictures, leave. I feel like how I've traveled up until this point has gone stale. I want to feel like I'm actually getting something out of traveling, being able to travel deeply to a new place, engaging with the culture in a non-superficial way, and feeling like I'm also giving back to the local community and not just in the form of transactions. I feel like the world/capitalism has kind of objectified and commoditized traveling and destinations, and I want to break out of that. That's where my headspace is at.

I would love to read a book that meditates on traveling, or philosophy of traveling, or the history of how "how we travel" has changed over time — so that it gives me a new way to think about how I travel, what I want out of it, and what I can do to get there. It can be essays, it can be didactic and dry, it can be memoir, it can be whatever 🙂

I could just google this, and probably get some shitty AI response. So I ask that in addition to the book title, please say specifically what YOU got out of the book! I'd love to hear your personal input 🙂
