So I’m a 33-year-old guy and in the last three months I discovered reading and now I’m addicted to it. I’ve been reading this subreddit for a while now and everybody here is pretty awesome so I built the courage to post this. I’ve mostly been reading romance novels or what some would call “ girly books” and don’t get me wrong I really like and enjoy them and there’s nothing wrong with them, but I have been sticking to them because these have been the easiest to read out of the other books I have tried. They’re just very straightforward easy to read they have a conflict they have a resolution and a happy ending and I can finish them on average in a day and a half but it’s just getting repetitive. One of the books I have read and really enjoyed that’s different was the troop by Nick Cutter, but then I read some of his other books and didn’t really like them because they have to do more with people’s fears and mental problems instead of real danger. I read a Tom Clancy red storm rising I really enjoyed it at the end, but I had to fight my way through the book. I am about to start lonesome Dove and the lies of Loche Lemora, I heard they are good but again I don’t know if I’m a struggle to get through them. Now that I’m done rambling I guess I just need suggestions on fiction books that are easy to read and I don’t mean that they have to be like young adult books, but that the story is kinda easy to follow, I’m even open to keep reading romance novels, but I just need a change of pace, open to almost anything, I want to discover what I like
