Supernatural mystery detective adventure with horror elements
I need a new book to read. I want something like a cross between Dan Brown and Dean Koontz with a bit of X-files sprinkled in. A bit of wild history detective work or Book Detective style story would be cool.

I’m not done with the first book yet but it sounds like Pines by Blake Crouch would fit what you’re looking for, the series is Wayward Pines.
Maybe try The City & the City, a neo noir weird fiction police procedural by China Miéville.
