I'm already planning to read LOTR (forgive me, I am behind in this fantasy thing.) As you can tell from that alone, I'm pretty much a high/epic fantasy person more than realism. But I still enjoy complicated characters and interesting arcs. I've also read a lot of the Empyrean series. I liked the world building, but the spice was a bit much to the point that it got in the way of the story a LITTLE. I wouldn't mind a bit of romance, though.

From reddit research, I've got some ideas of books I'd like to read next, but I'm not fully sure about them (I judge book covers too lol) I don't mind books that take a little time to get into because I'm also a classics reader (if you've ever read something like Jane Eyre or Pride and Prejudice you know what that means for my patience) but I don't like books that are paiiiiiinfully slow to the point that there's no plot for half the book, do you get me?

My list is as follows, in no specific order:

    • The Stormlight Archive
    • His Dark Materials (I've heard that this is for younger readers, if so, I might pass)
    • Wheel of Time
    • Earthsea
    • Mistborn
    • Malazan Book of the Fallen
    • Realm of the Elderlings – Farseer trilogy

What should I read? Welcoming any other suggestions to put on my TBR list 🙂

    Thank you! 💫

    1. Stormlight, WoT, Mazalan all 5☆

      Mistborn is good

      Farseer didn’t enjoy so much

      Haven’t read the others

    2. The Elf Queen series by J.M. Kearl. It’s a slow burn series but has a lot of fantasy elements (not that much spice over the span of 3 books I would say there are 3-5 spice scenes total so it’s very story oriented.)
