Self-explanatory, I've been depressed for 5 years now and everything feels hopeless. I dont have access to meds or therapy so but I lovee to read. Is there any self-help books you would recommend for clinical depression -_- TY 🙂
A book that helped wasn’t a self help book, because they are all the same. I found that changing how you see life is the key.
The book that changed my life was the book that was written by the first president of Bosnia, Alija Izetbegovic. He lived through communism, he was a Muslim, his neighbors were Christians, his culture is European, he loved philosophy… and he put all this knowledge in one book.
It’s called Islam between the east and the west. He talked about humanity, justice, equality, love, religions, God…etc

Lost Connections by Johann Hari.
Also books by Eckhart Tolle will really help you.

Victor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning is good, but for depression, a book isn’t going to do much to help.
Believe me, I tried for years to read or think my way out of poor mental health. You need support more than anything, a good therapist, maybe medication.
