I basically only read fantasy, and while I love the genre, I want to expand my horizons. What books would you recommend to someone that has never read a book from your favorite genre? Could be fiction or non-fiction.
Shard of the Cretaceous by William foreman. The ebook is actually free on Amazon right now idk how long though
Background-Factor433 on
The Last Aloha by Gaellen Quinn. Historical fiction.
CrazyGreenCrayon on
Murder with Peacocks by Donna Andrews, cozy mystery. If you like it, there’s about 30 more in the series. If you don’t, it stands alone.
The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde, parody/mystery.

Biographies. I read widely in many genres but in elementary school I began reading biographies of famous people. They came in orange colored dishes and illustrations were black cutouts.

One of my favourite authors is Frances Brody – any of her Kate Shackleton books.
My absolute favourite author is PG Wodehouse – any of his Jeeves & Wooster books.
iTsB-Raid on
Westerns. True Grit by Charles Portis.
It is short, just over 200 pages and a great, witty, human story.
A young girl’s father is killed, so she begins a revenge mission and meets two men who will aid her, for money of course. Honestly, that’s all I will say because the more blind you go in the better!
