something like the wardstone chronicles for a 24M ?

hello everybody, i’m looking for a book (or a series of book) to recommend to my 24M-cousin.
he wants to go back into reading and the only books he loved as a child were The Warstone Chronicles by Joseph Delaney.
as so, i’m looking for books in the same style! i’ll take any ideas <3
