I'm in the mood for comedy, my favorite genres are light sci-fi and urban fantasy so would like some recommendations along these lines. A witty or off beat sense of humor is a huge bonus, I'm in my forties now so I do appreciate puns and word play (aka dad jokes) way more now but metaphorical prat falls are always nice too. Juvenile humor, not so much.
Something along the lines of Discworld by Terry Pratchett or Whatever Yatzee is up to. I would also count the Murderbot series since it always makes me smile (Book 7 is coming next year!)

Reading your description, I was going to suggest Murderbot, but see you’ve already got it! The Hitchhikers Guide series is classic for a good reason and has gotten funnier as I’ve gotten older.
The Complete Cosmicomics by Italo Calvino
Have you read Another Fine Myth?
*Bartimaeus*
*Heap House*
*To Say Nothing of the Dog*
*The Dark Lord of Derkholm*
I just read Service Model. Is is a very silly British robot apocalypse book: The protagonist is a valet robot who accidentally murders his master and then goes on a quest to find another Manor house to do travel arrangements and select clothing at. This is made more difficult because society has slid into a ridiculous poorly planned bureaucracy in Apocalypse. Very python-esque humor.
You need to check Christopher Moore. I have only read 3 but I enjoyed them all. Funny and weird!
Try L.G. Estrella’s Unconventional Heros Series, it has a lot of funny moments.
The 2 Necromancers series. 2 Necromancers try to earn a pardon for past crimes by doing odd jobs for a kingdom. Strong found family vibe. The first book in the series is 2 Necromancers, A Bureaucrate, and an Elf.
Attempted Vampirism Series. A vampire noble has his castle repossessed for back taxes. He becomes an adventurer to try and earn money to buy it back.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is a well-known comic sci-fi novel.
If you want something shorter, I’d recommend the silly fantasy play [The One True Goddess of Acropolis High](https://www.bigdogplays.com/playdisplay.asp?playid=707)
Bobiverse!
Ilona Andrews Innkeeper Chronicles –A magic Inn, space werewolves and vampires, a lot of really unique aliens, mystery, romance, action, a fun and humorous series
Anima Rising by Christopher Moore
Dungeon crawler Carl if you’re also into video games. (Not a requirement, but will def improve your enjoyment of the series)
