No matter how hard i try, i can't get hooked on Dan Abnetts books. I've tried Eisenhorn. I thought the premise was great, but there are an overwhelming amount of details presented at every turn. I've read his entire Darkblade series, even though i found it a bit "dry".
Currently i am really enjoying Sandy Mitchell's Ciaphas Cain series. I am reading through the last book now. Also thought Aaron Dembski-Bowden's "Emperor's gift" was fantastic. Proceeded to try the Night lords series, but could not get into it given the darker subject.
That was a bit of a word salad, sorry about that.
I guess i am looking for something a) simple to digest, b) from the perspective of "good guys" (or less evil guys) and c) well written and worth a read.
