I’m craving books that feel alive, stories with soul, atmosphere, and that quiet ache that lingers.
I love Russian literature that wrestles with the human spirit (Dostoevsky, Bulgakov, Nabokov). Books where beauty and despair coexist, and love can both save and ruin you. But I’m also drawn to wistful gothic romances, heavy with memory, nostalgia, and desire. I don’t want glossy, mass-market kind of romances, I’m after something darker, slower, and more literary. Less Colleen Hoover, more Daphne du Maurier, Brontë, maybe even something modern with that same vibe.
I want writing that feels like it’s seen both heaven and hell and still dares to hope. Something that leaves you changed…
If you could recommend one book that feels like a spiritual experience, what would it be?
