Just as the title says! I'm looking to read more books for inspiration in writing my own book. I'm looking for books that are heavily influenced by European folklore and fairytales. The Witcher series is on my roster (I've played the games), but I don't know where else I should look and I'm looking for less obvious answers.

Grungy, yucky, plague-y, grim dark! Goblins, ghouls, gnoles, dwarves, werewolves (the bipedal kind), and creatures like that are a huge bonus!! Series or singular, it doesn't matter.

    1. “The Bright Sword” by Lev Grossman is a great dark, reality fantasy world of post Arthurian England with some Arthur lore mixed in. I found it amazingly fun and thought provoking.
