I loved the book. I fell in love with all of the characters and it made me rethink my perspective on sex work.
However, for what is a fairly straight narrative, Rufi Thorpe has created an extraordinarily meta book.
She reminds us constantly that this is novel, switch from first to third person while also telling us why. Towards the end, Margot herself tells us that this is a novel:
The book draws comparisons between the creation of a online persona with the creation of a work of fiction but Thorpe spends so much time exploring the literary world that I feel like she's saying more than just that.
I'd love anyone else's read on the book!
