Claire Keegan’s ability to build a description of Bill Furlong – a pensive, contemplative man who ruminates on the world/life he’s been dealt, but is at constant odds with his empathetic heart, really drew me in. I enjoyed the moody, Irish winter setting, the elements of historic fiction/insight into life in Ireland in the 80’s. What should I read next? I am very much drawn to Irish literature and would love to explore more as well as authors with similar writing styles to Keegan.
