I need a palate cleanser from all the long romantasy series and 600-page books.
So, now I’m looking for something shorter (300-400 pages), standalone, no romance, easy mindless read and still captivating enough that I’ll pick it up and read in a day.
I’m reading Sourdough by Robin Sloan right now, but it’s honestly a little too ”densely” written. I don’t know how to describe it. Like I have to concentrate when reading, rather than words just flowing.

Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore (by Robin Sloan): If you like Sourdough’s odd tone but want something more page-turny.
