I just recently got back into reading for fun the first time in a very long time- I just graduated college so I finally have free time to discover myself as a reader. Sharp Objects was the book that got me back into it and I have always loved dark novels and twists so I’ve been reading a lot of thriller/mystery. I loveee them but I think I need to try something less heavy and dark since I’m already feeling a little seasonal depression coming on. I’m looking for something that will be able to hold my interest like thrillers do but with less doom and gloom. I also love Mary Oliver’s poetry so I think I’d also enjoy something with nature themes. I’m also partial to books w/ complicated female main characters. Fiction or non-fiction is fine but I am not big on sci-fi or fantasy. I also listen to a lot of human interest stories so interesting biographies are also welcome.
Ik that was a lot of info but I’ll take any suggestions! I am open to trying things out to figure out what books/genres/authors I enjoy! Thanks for the help!
