This is a YA book and definitely an easy read (format wise, if I remember correctly it’s slightly larger font but not large print, and like I said it’s a YA but it doesn’t feel much like it to me and will stand forever as my favorite book). It’s by no means the best book ever written and I know there are much deeper pieces of literature out there, but the story of this book is so beautiful and touches on so many raw themes and aspects of daily life that it really touches so many places of your heart. I read this back in grade school and I still tell people this is my favorite book. It remains burned into my brain and I think genuinely started my love for reading.

    Underwater by Marisa Reichardt

A story involving tragedy and a slight romance story, but what I love is this book focuses a little more on the main character’s struggles and recovery as opposed to it being a love story. The main character Morgan suffers from a traumatic event in which she feels responsible for, and from that day on spends her life inside her family’s apartment. She struggles with her ongoing anxiety, PTSD and agoraphobia while sticking to her comforting daily routine eating the same meals, watching the same shows on TV, and completing her home schooling. The story follows Morgan’s road to recovery following this event that broke and completely changed who she was after that day. When the new neighbor Evan moves in, he is almost like a mirror image of the person she used to be, reminding her of the beauty of the beach and outdoors and everything she used to enjoy before the traumatic event, and he might be the thing she needs to get her feet back on the ground and out the door (literally).

I highly highly recommend reading this at least once. I hope you love it!!
