Looking for books that pull you deep into a character’s head, exploring all their complex emotions and insights

Hi! I'm looking for books centered on the inner lives of the characters, ones where you can get to know them and form a kind of bond with them along the story. I like to read their insights or reflections.

It could be a novel or short stories.

I like reading about pain, unrequited love, facing death, anxiety (that sort of things), but I also like seeing some kind of liberation for the characters. I also like mystery, so it would be interesting if I could have that too.
