Me and my husband try to find an audiobook to listen to during building Lego sets together. We both read fantasy, however it's kinda hard to find books we both enjoy. I think he prefers more the traditional fantasy tropes where I'm reading more modern fantasy tropes.
He likes lotr, star wars legends, as a kid he read orcs Vs dwarfs and the rangers apprentice series. At the moment he's working his way through Terry prachett and the Warhammer universe.
I don't really like lotr, I do like star wars but he has read a lot of the legends books already. As a kid I liked inkheart and Eragon. I have read and enjoyed the bloodsworn saga, mistborn trilogy, some Terry prachett books, fallen gods series, the priory of the orange tree and many more.
Stuff we both enjoy is witcher (book) series and kingdom come deliverance (computer game).
Could you suggest something fantasy or scify that we both could like, ideally a stand alone or a short series as we only need it for building Lego.

I’m really enjoying the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks.
The Name of the Wind
Look up The Scarifyers series, from Bafflegab Productions. It’s a full-cast audio series that’s a little like the X-Files, but set in 1930s Britain. In every story a retired policeman and a university professor investigate a sci-fi/horror/fantasy mystery of some sort and explore various genre tropes. (The first two stories aren’t my favourite genres to explore, but the cast is brilliant throughout.)
Alternatively, you might enjoy Big Finish’s full-cast audio series of The Avengers: The Comic Strip Adaptations (related to the classic UK TV kitschy sci-fi/espionage series, not the Marvel superheroes). They’re ridiculous but funny, and very well acted.
