I come from a very book-centric family, and every Christmas we exchange literary fiction. My parents had an elderly dog, whose interests included sitting sedately observing the wildlife and taking walks calmy sniffing plants. Last Christmas I got her Whale Fall by Elizabeth O'Connor, which she greatly enjoyed.
Sadly, the dog passed earlier this year, and now they have a new puppy, whose interests run more towards barking and generally causing a ruckus. I haven't yet met her and I'd like to make a good impression. Could you please suggest me some appropriate books from the past year I could consider for her present?
